We’ve been to this amazing city many times but the skyline changes every time we see it. Newest, most unique, quirkiest, and tallest – Dubai’s buildings and infrastructure reflects it all. They must have the world’s best – a way to show their great wealth and, by association (at least in their minds), power.

We decided against paying the $100+ to go to the top of the Burj Khalifa. Instead, we returned to our favourite area, the Bastikiya, to wander through the old fort museum and then around and about the meandering streets of the “old” town – mostly reconstructed but they still give you a feel for the former city. We enjoyed watching the ferries on Dubai Creek, taking mostly local people from one side to the other.

I didn’t take many pictures because I have them from previous visits but, in addition to the skyline seen from the ship and the Creek, I did get some in the new metro system. Tony just had to check it out! He pronounced it the best in the world. Dubai wouldn’t have it any other way.
